So what are we to make about news today that large slabs of the film have been leaked onto the Internet?
THE latest Wolverine film, starring Hugh Jackman, has been hit by one of the worst cases of movie pirating, with an incomplete version posted on the Internet almost a full month before its launch. With Hugh Jackman riding high on the popularity of his Oscars hosting gig and the leading man turn in the film Australia, leaking the film in which he plays X-Man Wolverine (a character he's made his own) is unlikely to damage box office.
The FBI is investigating the leak of a copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
A high-quality work print has surfaced on Internet file-sharing websites, and hundreds of thousands of people have already downloaded it, the Herald Sun reports.
What is interesting is the comments string below the story in which there is a robust comment about the 'morality' of downloading pirated movies.
Some justifications include that actors are paid too much, movies cost too much to make, ticket prices are too expensive but does that justify taking something that doesn't belong to you?
Can we change human nature or is it up to music, book and film producers to develop even more sophisticated ways of preventing piracy?
Or is this hoopla all about creating an advance buzz for a film?
What are your views?
Don't worry, this is an 'official' trailer:
